A NATO military delegation, led by General Sir Jack Deverell, commander-in-chief of the Allied Forces North Europe, arrived on an official visit on Monday at the invitation of General Miho Mihov, chief of the Bulgarian General Staff. His visit was to acquaint himself with Bulgarian Army reform, the efforts for Bulgaria's NATO accession, the perspectives for military co-operation, and the regional situation. Deverell was to meet with Defence Minister Boiko Noev, and to visit army units.

A multinational inspection team, headed by Hungarian experts, was scheduled to inspect objects of verification of the Bulgarian Armed Forces starting today, in accordance with the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, the Defence Ministry announced. Italy, Luxembourg, Spain and Canada were to be represented on the team by one guest inspector each.
