Fires burn crops

Fires have destroyed 110 hectares of wheat since harvesting began in the Pleven region (Northern Bulgaria). Twenty-five fires broke out in fields of cereal crops during that time, bringing the total number of fires since January to 184. Twelve investigative proceedings have been instituted on suspicions of arson. Three people were killed and one was injured in the fires.
