Sofia has ombudsman

After two votes, 31-year-old Antoaneta Tsoneva was elected ombudsman (public mediator) for Sofia. She is a public relations officer at the ESPA private high school in Sofia. She won against 48-year-old lawyer Maria Slavova. The two were short-listed from 41 candidates by a nine-member municipal committee.

At present, there are 10 municipal ombudsmen throughout the country.
