Two killed in aircraft crash

Hristo Staikov, a 34-year-old pilot, and Petar Petrov, a 53-year-old instructor, were killed Tuesday when a training aircraft crashed near the Dolna Banya Aviation Training Centre (near Sofia).

The bi-engine ultralight I1L trainer crashed while taking off at about 8pm, said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications.

An investigative commission went to the crash site after an order by Transport Minister Plamen Petrov. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
