Forty-one fires broke out over the course of Monday, announced the spokesperson of the National Fire Safety and Emergency Management Service on Tuesday.

The fire brigades answered 255 emergency calls nationwide, of which 211 were for fires in dry grass areas.

Most serious was the situation in the region of Haskovo (Southern Bulgaria) where a fire was raging in fields across 10km. By Tuesday, the fires were burning only in that region. A total of 306 fires broke out in Bulgaria last weekend, reported the National Fire Service.
