An international train travelling from Turkey to Germany caught fire near Plovdiv (Southern Bulgaria) last Friday. No passengers were reported injured, but seven automobiles transported in the freight section of the train were completely destroyed, one was damaged and 25 others were rescued. The fire was extinguished within an hour, reported the spokesperson of the National Fire Safety and Emergency Management Service.

The Plovdiv transport police are investigating the cause of the incident. Early evidence revealed that the fire broke out in one of the automobiles and spread to the other vehicles, said the Plovdiv Fire Safety Service.
