Levski-Galatassaray match gathers 2,400 police officers

The police made elaborate security arrangements for the decisive qualification match for the European Champions League between Bulgaria's champion Levski and Turkey's Galatassaray in Sofia on Wednesday. One thousand policemen from Sofia and 400 more from the rest of the country guarded the Georgi Aparuhov Stadium. This included 18 mounted police and 20 police dogs. Another 1,000 policemen from Sofia patrolled the city before, during, and after the match. Three hundred guards of the municipal security company Egida also provided assistance. About 2,000 Galatassaray fans were expected to arrive from Turkey.
