Ecumenical Patriarch to visit Bulgaria

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is due to arrive in Bulgaria on September 5 to attend two scientific events, said the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church on Tuesday. Patriarch Bartholomew is scheduled to attend a conference on Byzantium and the Balkans in Plovdiv (Southern Bulgaria) until September 7. Between September 9-11 he is to participate in Sofia in an international scientific conference organized by the Thessaloniki Orthodox.
