Monday's meeting between Foreign Minister Solomon Passi and the ambassadors of the Balkan states and Italy should be perceived within the context of the intentional intensification of relations with neighbouring countries, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Elena Poptodorova after the meeting. Passi emphasized the importance of infrastructure projects for the stabilization of the region; Corridor VIII (a major international system of roads, seaports and railways) was discussed in detail.
