To: All American citizens and organizations

Due to the shocking and tragic events in the United States, we have increased our own security vigilance and have been in touch with the Bulgarian authorities to request an additional measure of security around our facilities.

The United States Embassy in Bulgaria is open and will remain open during regular business hours. All functions, including consular services, will continue.

Even though we are unaware of any threat against American citizens or U.S. facilities in Bulgaria, we urge all American citizens here to exercise an extra level of security consciousness.
