Sofia has hosted a seminar on Muslim minorities set up by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The three-day forum focused on Muslim minorities living in countries that are not members of the organization. OIC secretary general Abdelouhed Belkeziz opened the meeting on Wednesday.

Participants discussed the role of Islamic organizations in Eastern Europe and regional international organizations in preserving Islamic communities. The forum aimed at encouraging Muslim communities to participate more actively in the economic and social life of their countries.
