France backs Bulgarian foreign policy

Thu, Sep 20 2001 15:00 CET 34 Views
France supports Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities, said new French Ambassador to Bulgaria Jean-Loup Kuhn at a meeting with Bulgarian media last Friday. Kuhl said that his country encourages Bulgaria's quest for EU and NATO membership and appreciates its efforts in that direction. Bulgaria's path to accession into European structures is clearly outlined, the ambassador added.

According to him, investigators were still working on the recent visa scandal at the French Embassy in Sofia. "This is unpleasant but we should not forget that there is no longer a visa regime between Bulgaria and the EU countries," he said.
