Nikolai Kolev, former prosecutor in the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office, has left police detention facilities and is currently under house arrest, said his lawyer Ivan Kolev last Friday. The trial against Kolev is scheduled for November 22 at the Sofia City Court. He is charged with illegal possession of drugs and a gun. He was arrested on June 20.

Kolev made headlines after saying that prosecutor general Nikola Filchev had a mental problem. After this statement, several cases were instituted against him. One of the charges implicates him in the murder of a lawyer.
