Fall fashions use classic style

The Fashion House Zheni Style launched two new ideas at a revue on Tuesday at the National Palace of Culture. The first was the meeting of the styles of the East and the West and the second was how classical fashions can be combined with the latest styles.

The new season of fashion started with presentations from both Zheni Style and Zheni Sport. According to the designer and owner of the fashion house, Zheni Zhivkova (granddaughter of former communist leader of Bulgaria, Todor Zhivkov) the first show was a mere reflection of a few of her own artistic quests. Zhivkova (or Zheni) always sticks to classics and preserves them at any cost. But in the completed ideas of the revue she expressed how she does not miss an opportunity to elaborate on classical elements and put some final touches to them as well.

The first VIP event for the season showed a series of suits, sporting the company logo, from the most elegant epochs of the 1930s, 1950s and 1970s. According to some of the fashion critics present at the party, the designer managed to successfully unite the aesthetics of East and West. The erotica in her models bears the energy of the avant-garde. The ethno wave on the other hand suggested the philosophy of ancient cultures. The Japanese hieroglyphs added a touch of the exotic to the dresses and outfits presented on Tuesday.

Zheni Sport's line of clothes is not only the focus of interest of teenagers but is also a challenge to every lady who is young in spirit.

The autumn-winter collection of Zheni Style intermingles the concepts of both Zheni Style and Zheni Sport. The smooth mixture of both demonstrates a light transition from classical to sporty-elegant clothes.

Colours from the collection are topical and offer a taste of sophisticated elegance and quality fibres. Most of the garments are compatible with everyday ordinary meetings or official dinners and parties. The stress in the whole collection falls on the classical mantles, and suits with waist-length coats have been combined with A-like silhouettes. Knee-length skirts and slightly shorter ones were also combined with short coats. The cotton shirts and tops were used either as an accessory to suits or garnished with taffeta ensembles to match certain skirts.

Evening dresses were made of cotton and lace unlike official evening satin dresses. Some amongst them were originally made from denim clothing and embroidered with mohair. Striped materials and stamps with irregular shapes have been characterized for both Zheni Style and Zheni Sport Fashion Houses. Cotton-stuffed jackets and skirts express a certain variety of the classical line. Coloured cotton jackets and woolen overcoats are the hit of the season, according to fashion designers. That is a definite novelty of Zheni's fashion house.

The colours gracing the stage were dominated by grey, blue, black, turquoise, sea blue and lilac. A great part of the latest fashion was modelled by former Miss Bulgaria Evgenia Kalkandjieva.

Politicians, diplomats, MPs, ambassadors, journalists, fashion addicts, designers and businessmen gathered for the show.
