British judges on visit

Thu, Sep 27 2001 15:00 CET 40 Views
The start of a program for international legal cooperation between judges and practicing lawyers from Britain and the Balkan states was launched during the visit of a team of British judges from September 22 to 26.

The visit was initiated by Borislav Boyanov from the newly established British-Balkan Legal Foundation, and George Dobry, founder of the Warsaw-based British Centre for the Study of British and European law. The main goal of the foundation is to create a centre for British and European law which will provide training for law students, judges and practicing lawyers in Bulgaria.

With the financial assistance of the British side, the foundation intends to organize seminars and research of regional and international significance. The organization also plans to hold a training course, in 2002, on EU law for young lawyers.
