Maleeva ranks second

Last Sunday, the best Bulgarian female tennis player Magdalena Maleeva, 16th in the professional world rankings, played in the final of the $565,000 Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig against Belgian teenager Kim Clijsters. The 25-year-old Maleeva fell two sets to love (1-6, 1-6) but won $43,000 for second prize. If she had won, she would have taken home $87,000.
