At its Tuesday session, the Constitutional Court rejected the demand of 57 MPs and of the general assembly of the Supreme Administrative Court for pronouncing as illegal the election of Irena Marinova-Varadinova as the Razgrad member of parliament for the National Movement Simeon II. The Constitutional Court explained its ruling by stating that Ventseslav Dimitrov had been replaced with Irena Marinova-Varadinova by the NMSII in accordance with the law, and that Marinova-Varadinova satisfied the requirements for nomination as an MP.
