His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Count of Inverness, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain, will visit Bulgaria between October 17 and 19 for the inauguration of the new buildings of the British Embassy and the British Council, the embassy's press office announced on Wednesday.

The Duke of York is scheduled to confer with President Petar Stoyanov and Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg, and visit some of the offices of British companies in Bulgaria. His program also includes meetings with members of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF). The BBLF is affiliated with the Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum.

Prince Andrew has been a special representative of the British Trade and Investment Agency since October 1 of this year. As such, he is supposed to defend the interests of British companies and investors abroad, and present Britain as a place with a favourable business climate and investment opportunities, the press office of the embassy said.
