Electronic signature act in effect

The Electronic Signature and Electronic Document Act, passed by the National Assembly on April 6, came officially into effect on Sunday. Bulgaria became the seventh country after Sweden, Austria, Germany, France, Britain and Ireland to extend legislative recognition to electronic signatures. State Administration Minister Dimitar Kalchev and Finance Minister Milen Velchev received smart cards for electronic signatures last Thursday.
