Roma will be appointed to positions in the Interior Ministry on a priority basis, said the Ministry's chief secretary Boyko Borissov last Thursday at a meeting with the Euroroma Movement. He added that people will be recruited among the Roma population in Bulgaria to serve as undercover officers. According to Borissov, there have been Roma trained as officers at the police academy in Simeonovo. "To us everyone here is a Bulgarian citizen, irrespective of language, religion and colour," Borissov said.
