Results from the basketball league matches

Thu, Nov 01 2001 13:00 CET 75 Views
The champions Levski Sikonko started the Southeastern basketball league with a loss last Friday. Levski was beaten 83-101 by Apoel (Tel Aviv) in an away match. The hosts, who have returned to the European tournament after a five-year absence, were definitely the better team. As is usually the case, the best of the Bulgarians was the ever sprightly 39-year-old Georgi Mladenov, the playing president of the club and captain of the team, who scored 21 points.
