Phish - Round Room

IT took two years of indefinite hiatus and sporadic collaborations for all four members of Phish to get back together, but it took them only four days to produce an unexpected new album. Round Room is Phish's ninth studio recording and their first since 2000.

Produced by Bryce Goggin, "Round Room ripples with raw, vital energy and features a healthy dose of the band's trademark improvisational style," according to the band's web site.

This album represents a very different recording approach for Phish. Typically, their new music is played live for at least one entire tour before being put on an album. Round Room came out of rehearsals for the upcoming tour. While the first song, "Pebbles and Marbles" is typical, the rest of the album is sonically and texturally different then what we have heard from Phish before. In addition, the entire album has a much looser feel to it than their previous recordings.

Aaliyah - I Care 4 U

I CARE 4 U, is a celebration of Aaliyah's music, composed for her fans and available to them in one 'must-have' collection, released one year after the tragic death of the star. I Care 4 U covers Aaliyah's musical evolution. It features her early smash hits as a teenager, her award winning/ record-breaking singles as a young adult and pop-culture icon, and new music available for the first time for her fans.

This album showcases her singing talent, something that has been questioned time and time again. Surprisingly, it includes only three tracks made with the aid of her famous producer Timbaland: the very beautiful "We Need a Resolution", the fly "More than a Woman", and the slower paced "I Care 4 U". The majority of the album is written by Static, from Blackground's male singing group Playa, who does a very nice job, and she has a very edgy-rock type of feel in the somewhat in your face song "What If", written by new R&B man Tank.
