The shore in 80 regions along the Danube riverbank on Bulgarian territory is under water, representatives of the Danube research and monitoring agency said.
In the past 24 hours the water level increased with 44 cm near Vidin, 42 cm near Lom and 38 cm close to Rousse, BGNES news agency reported.
The central Lom pier was submerged, as well as the piers in Oriahovo, Archar village and Tsibyr harbour.
The Kozlodui pumping station was flooded.
According to prognoses the river level near Rousse will rise with additional 74 cm and near Silistra with 78 cm.
Rousse regional governor Maria Dimova summoned today the regional disaster management committee. Members will consider preventive measures and examine the condition of river dikes in the region.
The funding is provided under the foreign military sales programme of the US army's Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.
