The port of the Black sea coastal city of Bourgas was closed at 10.20am on March 20 2007 because of strong wind.

Wind speed reached 17 m per second in the city.

Maneuvers of all types of vessels are forbidden, Focus news agency said.

The port will remain closed until new order of Executive Agency Maritime Administration.

Varna port, the other big Black Sea port in Bulgaria, is partially closed. Empty and light vessels are banned from entering or leaving the port. Wind speed in Varna bay reached 12 m per second.

Wind speed of 22 m per second imposed the closure of the two ports in Rousse on the Danube River, Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River Executive Agency said.

All Bulgarian vessel owners and all crews in the Bulgarian part of the river were informed about the closure and the strong wind, Darik Radio said.

The ports of Svishtov and Somovit are still opened because the wind is weaker in the regions.
