KREMIKOVTSI FINED
Minister of Environment and Waters Affairs, Djevdzhet Chakurov, imposed a  monthly fine of more than 24 000 leva (12 000 euro) on Kremikovtsi JSC for polluting waste waters, the ministry's press office announced on August 6. The association of alcohol producers, importers and traders vowed to put all their efforts into maintaining the current excise tax on alcohol. Botev said that this year the state will earn 40 per cent more from excise duty, which means that legal production has increased by 40 per cent.
