TWO-WEEK EMERGENCY STATE IN BULGARIA'S TSAR KALOYAN CALLED OFF

Authorities in Bulgaria called off the state of emergency in the town of Tsar Kaloyan, declared after the floods on August 6 2007.

The crisis headquarters in the town decided to call of the state of emergency on August 20 2007, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.

The drinkable water in the town is still muddy, but the tests showed that it is good.

A second disinfection will be held in the next 10 days, BNR said.

Tsar Kaloyan citizens are still under quarantine, due to the epidemic outbreak risk.

Eight people drowned in the floods, which destroyed more than 20 houses, caused electricity shortages and damaged agricultural lands and telephone connections.
