European funding for Bulgaria's agriculture sector development for the period from 2007 to 2013 will total 6.5 billion euro.

State agricultural fund managing director Dimitur Tadarukov said that 3.2 billion euro will be invested in the programme for agriculture and village development.

The rest will be used for direct payments and support to agricultural producers.

A large-scale information campaign will inform sector representatives how to use most efficiently European funds as of September 2007.

Tadarukov made his statement on the opening of the 15th edition of an international agricultural fair in Dobrich, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

More than 380 companies from 30 countries are presenting themselves at the international exhibition in Dobrich. The fair will continue until September 1 2007.
