TEN COMPANIES TO COMPETE IN TENDER FOR BULGARIA'S CAPITAL SUBWAY CONSTRUCTION

Ten companies will take part in the tender for the construction of the second part of Sofia's subway.

The section will connect the Nadezhda pedestrian bridge with Cherni Vruh blvd, Dnevnik daily reported.

The battle between the companies interested to participate in the construction will be tense because of the participation of well known companies from the construction sector.

The project will be included in the government's Transport operational programme as the planned funds to be invested totals 185 million euro.

Candidates will be evaluated whether they have experience in realizing similar projects and if they possess the necessary technical equipment.

Italian consortiums Condotte and Ansaldo are among the tender participants. The two companies have realized projects all over the world.

The Italian company Seli, part of the consortium Pizrotti - Seli will also take part in the tender.

The largest construction company in Greece, Aktor and Spanish Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas will also compete for Sofia's subway construction.
