EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO BULGARIAN WRITER EMILIYAN STANEV IN PARLIAMENT

On the occasion of the Day of the Leaders of the Bulgarian National Revival, an exhibition, commemorating 100 years from the birth of Bulgarian writer Emiliyan Stanev, opened in Parliament on November 1, Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported.

The exhibition was opened by Parliament spokesperson Georgi Pirinski. Representatives of the academic society, as well as experts on the Stanev's work attended the opening.

The motto of the exhibition is ''To approach everything with love". It represents Stanev as a writer, philosopher of Bulgarian history, public figure and member of Parliament.  It shows archive photographs of the famous artist, copies of his manuscript notes, photographs from plays and films based on his works and translations. All these items are on loan from the Emiliyan Stanev museum house in Veliko Tarnovo.

Pirinski said he hoped that the exhibition would make it possible for the many people who came to the Parliament to get to know the art of Emiliyan Stanev - a true leader of Bulgaria's revival.

Stanev is considered a the classic of modern Bulgarian literature. His work is translated in over 30 languages, his most famous book being ''The peach thief''. UNESCO proclaimed him Bulgaria's top person of 2007.
 
The exhibition will close on November 10.
