The telecommunications network of Max Telecom covered 2.5 million Bulgarians, or around 30 per cent of the population, Max Telecom announced.

Before the end of 2008, the company's network was planned to cover 90 per cent of the population, Dnevnik daily said.

The company was extending its WiMax wireless network in the ski resorts Bansko, Pamporovo and Bankya in December 2007. It already operated networks in Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Bourgas, Doupnitsa, Pazardjik, Pernik, Petrich, Plovdiv, Sandanski and Sliven.

The current network would allow for transfer speeds of up to two megabyte per second, which the company said it would increase to five megabyte before the end of February.

Max telecom started its WiMax network officially in October 2007. Investments until the end of 2007 have been around 15 million euro, the company announced it would invest another 15 million euro in 2008.

More than likely, although you would never hear it from Maxtelecom, their service is overloaded, and therefore breaks down, as they cannot handle the amount of subscribers they have. Advice? Look for another operator!

What's more, phone service, which accompanies their/your Internet package, works only 1/2 the time. And overseas conversations, if you manage to connect, is accompanied by much static and disconnects after so many minutes of usage.

I have been a Maxtelecom client for some time now. I must say that their 'base station(s)' are always breaking down, causing constant interruptions with the Internet.
But mostly, their 'customer service' is virtually non-existent. We have tried calling, even for days, about Internet connection problems, etc., but CANNOT reach ANYONE. Also, there is no warning when their service will be 'down', and if you manage to actually reach someone from customer service, after days of wondering, they will not know what the problem is, nor how long it will take to fix.
