The State Agency for Information Technology and Communication (SAITC) will hold a forum and a round table discussion on computer games and safety of children online on September 12, a SAITC media statement said.
During the forum, a document produced by the Council of Europe's Group of Specialists on Human Rights in the Information Society (MC-S-IS), including SAITC representatives, will be presented. The document contains a set of guidelines aiming "to give providers of online games understandable, practical advice on the safety of children while playing or studying online," SAITC said.
The guidelines will be discussed during the round table with representatives of the judiciary, the network of centres for safe internet of the European Commission InSafe, parents and providers of online and video games, SAITC said.
Speakers during the forum include SAITC chair person Plamen Vachkov, InSafe project manager Janis Richardson, Georgi Apostolov, co-ordinator of the National Centre for a Safe Internet, and Nikoloi Slavchev from the Bulgarian Federation for Electronic Sports.
