No Christmas parties for Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov

Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov has decided to cancel all his holiday cocktail parties, city hall announced in a November 27 2008 press statement. The reason cited was the financial crisis.

Along with the receptions, he is also cancelling Christmas-season festivities that are connected to "the consumption of financial means". Excepted from the cancellations are children's parties organised by city hall and charity celebrations.
