Bulgarian media have reported that a 50-year-old British woman was raped late in the evening of Thursday December 11 in the village of Bata, according to Pomorie police department.
The incident took place at about 11pm in the yard of the Hristo Botev Secondary School. The British woman had apparently arrived in Bulgaria to meet a friend who was apparently also a British national.
During the investigation, the victim told police she was at a restaurant with her friend. After leaving the restaurant alone she was accosted by three unknown men who took her to the schoolyard. Two of the men raped her.
The three are now under arrest. They are aged between 18 and 53 and work at a construction site in the village of Bata.
