Ask Russia and Moldova about halted natural gas supplies, Ukraine's ambassador says

Tue, Jan 06 2009 11:55 CET 357 Views
There were two reasons for the halted supplies of Russian natural gas to Bulgaria and the rest of the Balkans, Victor Kalnik, Ukraine's ambassador to Bulgaria, told Bulgarian news agency Focus on January 6 2009.

"Ukraine as a transit country is complying with its duties but it is the Russian side that gives the orders for the transited natural gas quantities via Ukraine," he said.

"The other reason is the 15 million cu m of natural gas that Moldova has redirected on its own from the transit pipeline on January 6 2009," Kalnik said.
