Bulgarian property developments in limbo - The Sofia Echo reports

A glimpse at the stories to look forward to in this week's newspaper

A grim tide of announcements and media reports in recent weeks has cast up a picture of Bulgaria's real estate and construction industries experiencing sharp slowdowns as projects are withdrawn or put on ice pending an economic recovery. In the issue of The Sofia Echo published on February 6, we look at projections from industry players about what to expect in the months ahead.

A special item in this week's issue of The Sofia Echo is an explanatory article by Rene Beekman about this very site - sofiaecho.com - and its new look and features. On the website front, others are not doing quite as well, as Beekman outlines after looking at some Bulgarian municipalities' intrepid ventures into cyberspace.

In the business section, we have details of what Bulgaria hopes to achieve to boost business on its ski slopes, and some views on Bulgaria's domestic credit market.

The Sofia Echo's features section this week has a full article of the plight faced by the homeless in winter, an exclusive interview with a leading winemaker, and of course, our regular entertainment listings, restaurant and film reviews, social photos and sports coverage.
