... to set up the clash with Nadal

Rafael Nadal will have to wait some more before resuming his running rivalry with Roger Federer after Britain's Andy Murray threw a spanner in the works at Indian Wells.

The Briton, ranked fourth in the ATP rankings, notched his sixth win against the former world number one (6-3, 4-6, 6-1) to set up a clash with the current holder of the position, who ousted home favourite Andy Roddick 6-4, 7-6 to advance to the final.

The duo have met seven times before, with Nadal holding the edge with five wins, but Murray won the last two meetings - last year's US Open semifinal and the final in Rotterdam earlier this year.

"It's going to be a challenge for me and I'm going to try to play my best tennis," Nadal said ahead of the match, as quoted by Reuters.

"He's a very complete player. He has a good serve and very good control from the baseline. He has good hands and a very good drop shot. He can play aggressive, he can play defensive.

"Before he has one good match and later he played one set well and then two sets not at the same level. Right now he's playing all the time very solid."

Not to be outdone, Murray said: "I've started to play better against him lately, but he's obviously one of the toughest players ever. I have to play some of my best tennis."

Nadal has already won at Indian Wells, lifting the title in 2007, when Murray had recorded his previous best showing in the tournament, reaching the semifinals.
