Bulgarian bicycle makers have put the global economic crisis to good use
On June 28, Bulgarian bicycle and parts producer Velomania, and tourism club Rila, held an event titled Streets for People, whose goal was to encourage Sofians to travel by bike. To illustrate the benefits, the company showcased that 60 cars took up 500 sq m, a bus seating 75 passengers took up 90 sq m, while 120 cyclists occupied about 250 sq m.
