Belgian delegation interested in Bourgas

Ghent

Representatives from 35 Bourgas-based companies established contact and conducted negotiations with the visiting Belgian delegation in the Bulgarian seaside town on June 17, Dnevnik daily has reported.

The Belgian delegation was led by the mayor of Ghent, Daniel Termont. The meeting was organised on the request of the Belgian visitors who had expressed a strong interest in the Bourgas region, a spokesperson from the Bourgas municipality has revealed.

The meeting was inaugurated by the deputy municipal mayor of Bourgas, Krassimir Stoichev, who is well acquainted with the economy of the Belgian town of Ghent, having lived and studied there in the past, the statement says.

During the presentation, the municipal leader of the construction chamber in Bourgas, Dimitar Yanakiev, the representative of the Bourgas regional tourist association Sonya Enilova, Diana Ivanova from the real estate association, Vitka Vulcheva, representative of the retail and industrial chamber and Tsanko Ivanov, head of the Bourgas retail and manufacturing chamber all participated.

The first "official co-operation" between both cities has been agreed upon, and in April 2010, the Bourgas exhibition 'Flora' will be presented in the traditional 'Floralia" event organised every year in Ghent.
