A coalition government between Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) and the Blue Coalition would be the best solution for the country, Martin Dimitrov and Ivan Kostov said in an interview on Bulgarian National Television.

Dimitrov said the formation of a strong, centre-right government was "the next project".

Kostov said a wide consensus would be needed in a future government to tackle the problems ahead.

According to Kostov, the most urgent issue was to "drive the mafia out of power," referring to the previous government and their legacy. "After that, everything else will follow," Kostov said.

Commenting on the participation of Galev and others in the elections, Dimitrov said "many candidate MPs will now return to prison, that is a good thing for society".

According to Dimitrov and Kostov, the election results had shown that Bulgaria would be politically stable.

Along with congratulations, Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria leader Ivan Kostov, congratulated GERB on its victory and wished the party luck in dealing with its inheritance from the previous government.
