Sopharma reports H1 sales of 82.6M leva

Bulgarian drug maker Sopharma has said its first-half revenue increased to 82.6 million leva, up from 76.4 million leva for the same period of 2008.

Net profit increased to 22.55 million leva, compared to 9.72 million leva for the same period of last year, Sopharma said in a statement to the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, where it is listed.

The company, which wants to list on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the medium term, said that its outlook was sound even when the economy was in recession and was eager "to capitalise on the opportunities that will inevitably follow the economic downturn."
