The second edition of the Sofia Dance Week Academy starts on September 14 2009 at 7pm on the summer stage of Sofia's Borisova Gradina park. The academy continues for five days and entrance is free.

The first public lesson will be on MTV-style dancing and will be presented by Petya Popova from Studio Dance Zone.

On September 15, the dance academy will continue with a lesson in salsa, a dance class with Poco Loco (Cuban style), a show performance Pa'Lante (LA style) and an IRE live (authentic Cuban music performance).

On September 16, dance fans can enjoy the Arabic dance night with Milena Davidova from Studio Dance Zone and on the last day of the academy, September 17, the focus will be tango with Ivailo and Gabriela from Laokoontango studio.

Last year the event proved to be a great success as hundreds of people gathered in Borisova Gradina to dance under the guidance of professional instructors.

The Sofia Dance Week Academy precedes the first and only international contemporary dance festival in Bulgaria Sofia Dance Week which this year starts on September 24 and ends on October 1.

The first edition on September 2008 presented seven of the best European dance companies and choreographers and gathered an audience of 10 000 people.

Pictured in various dance postures, some of Sofia's most famous statues were chosen to popularise the first international festival of contemporary dance in Bulgaria - Sofia Dance Week - taking place from September 22 to 29.
