To Mira, Svetlana, Lena, Anita I just want to say I sympathise with your concerns but believe me not all men in the Macedonian diaspora are poofters like nick, goce, and naum. There are descent women loving men around who understand whats happening without politicising everything. I wasn't aware that this husband was actually abusing Spaska with continual beatings, rape, and death threats. I found out from my cousin who done a little of homework for me from Strumica. I hope Spaska receives some type of compensation and emotional and moral support from those who knew of her plight. You see in the diaspora so many of our community in so stuck up with illusions of some type of grand Macedonia better than everyone else and of course this blinds them from reality that back at home in Macedonia just like here in Rockdale, Sydney wife bashing and the like are rife. Our culture has never learnt to move on from its patriarchal domination and as such many of our women suffer behind closed doors. Here in a place called Arncliffe we have a facility for all the abused women which is sometimes quite full showning us that even here in a cultured society our Macedonian men still act like primitive, nose picking PIGS who drink too much then go home expecting favors from there wives who find their husbands revolting. It's funny "Naumov" totally ignores the information in my post..that in the 1946 Bulgarian census, 252,908 Bulgarian citizens declared themselves to be Macedonian and that more than 6000 Bulgarian citizens today want their party "United Macedonian Organization-Ilinden" registered as a political party in Bulgaria. I personally know many Bulgarians from Fyrom,who now have Bulgarian passprt and working here in Greece.In Fyrom its forbiten to say im Bulgarian.Ofcourse i dont want to tell you about the Greeks..It is estimated that there are about 200.000 Greeks named,Saracatsanoi,Vlachs,or even Makedonskys!!Its forbiten to them to say that they are Greeks many years ago.The same happened with the almost half of the population wich are Bulgarians.This is why Bulgaria is reacting its not just a matter of FYROM.

What about the rights of the Macedonians in Bulgaria. Do you remember that 252,908 ethnic Macedonians declared their ethnicity as Macedonian on the 1946 Bulgarian census. (And don't give me the bull answer that they were forced to say that..because there were some who said they were bulgarian too) And how about the more than 6000 members of the United Macedonian Organization-Pirin which Bulgaria refuses to register...One woman who got a Bulgarian passport simply to travel in the EU and not because she is Bulgarian is propagandized by your society..Very sick..while hundreds of thousands of Macedonians face Bulgarian "justice" every day..

I'm not Macedonian or Bulgarian, but somehow for me it's clear that when you make a crime you get a sentence. It doesn't matter which passport you have or if you have small baby or not. Here women with babies go to prison with that baby if necessary and if you are citizen of other country you will be sent to your homeland. And it seems this woman is even citizen of Macedonia, so I don't really get why BG makes it big deal.

It is interesting how Bulgaria gets involved in someones domestic affairs. This Spaska Mitreva crap is internal Macedonian issue and not Bulgarian. After reading a number of web sites and corresponding with Macedonians I have come to the conclusion that they still live in some kind of communist propaganda induced fantasy land. They deny historical facts, distort reality and talk like fanatics. Clearly they are not yet ready to join the modern western world.Good on Greece and Bulgaria if they deny them EU membership.
