Kamelia Lozanova has been appointed the executive director of the Employment Agency, a position she has held ad interim since September 2011, following the resignation of her predecessor Rossitsa Stelianova. Prior to that, Lozanova was the agency's deputy executive director in charge of international projects and European programmes. She has been with the agency for more than 20 years. Lozanova has a degree in Slavonic philology from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia.
Gloria Dimitrova has been appointed executive director and member of the managing board at Uniqa Life Insurance Bulgaria. Dimitrova began her career in 1998 at the insurance supervision directorate, but moved to the private sector and worked for professional services and insurance brokerage firm Marsh&McLennan and US insurer AIG, both in Bulgaria and the Middle East. She joined Uniqa as regional director for Sofia in 2010. Dimitrova has a degree in economics from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia and a master's degree in insurance from the Business Academy in Svishtov.
Sofiyska Voda’s board of directors has approved the appointment of Jean Salessy as the company's general commercial proxy. Salessy has 30 years of experience in institutional development, technical and financial management of water supply companies, having managed public-private partnership projects in Portugal, Australia, and China. Salessy has been the chief executive of Veolia Water in Portugal since 2010 and had previously held senior positions at Veolia Environnement divisions in China, Australia, the Czech Republic and France. Salessy has a master's degree in chemical engineering from the Chemical Engineering National Superior School of Engineers in Toulouse and postgraduate qualifications for wastewater management (from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse) and environmental management (from the National School of Health in Rehn). He also holds a certificate in financial management from the British Open University of Prague.
The supervisory board of Allianz Bank Bulgaria has appointed Nikola Bakalov as executive director and member of the lender's managing board. Bakalov has already secured regulatory approval from the Bulgarian National Bank for his appointment. His career began with the Bulgarian dealer of Chrysler and Jeep cars, prior to joining First Investment Bank's card payments department in 2000. In 2006, he was promoted to head the card payments department. Bakalov has a master's degree in international economic relations from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia.
Erich Szuchy has been appointed executive director of food and fast-moving consumer goods retailer Billa Bulgaria, replacing Emil Stefanov, who left the company to pursue other career opportunities. Szuchy's previous position was sales manager at Billa Austria, but his career in the industry started in 1991 with another retailer owned by REWE Group, Merkur, where he rose through the ranks to become deputy chairperson of the board overseeing sales and marketing. In 2006, Szuchy became head of central purchasing at REWE International, and in 2008 was appointed manager of Billa's sales department.
