I paid my taxes every year in Pamporovo to the Bulgarian managemant company who have now run off with all our money and stolen many expensive items from the complex and caused many thousands of Euro damage to the complex as well. Yet many people are only too ready to blame the Brits for not paying.

No, the Rottweiller does not lie to you as he bites your arm off!!!!

"Russians and Spanish nationals also have property here but they have paid taxes on time,"
Looks like another case of British property hunters setting up their own rules. They try to do this all over the world... ex: carribean..
Stop complaining and finding any kind of reason, not to pay. Excuse after excuse. Next thing we hear is that the letters had spelling mistakes, so payments could not be issued, but the British as a result.

What is the difference between a Bulgarian Property Management company and a Rottweiller ?
I have more trust and feel safer with a rottweiller.
Unfortunately due to the unscrupulous behaviour of Bulgarian Property developers/management companies UK owners with fully paid-up property have never received BULSTAT cards from the local municipality who refuse to issue them due to monies owed by the property managers. Owners of individual properties like us are therefore in a 'catch 22' situation and have also never received letters seeking tax but we know we must owe something !
"a misunderstanding between the British owners and the companies managing their properties in Bulgaria"
Sounds like another case of people paying money to management companies and those companies "misunderstanding" what the money was intended for.
