New: The Sofia Echo shows its summer colours

The Sofia Echo is set for a sizzling summer (and beyond) when, from August 6 2010, the newspaper becomes full-colour and adds pages packed with a mix of new features and reader favourites.

Timed to catch the wave of the Black Sea tourist season, distribution will be stepped up at coastal resorts, to give local holidaymakers and foreign visitors the chance to enjoy Bulgaria’s national English-language newspaper even while relaxing at the seaside. This is part of an overall major increase in distribution of the newspaper countrywide.

Revamped in the light of responses to our recent survey of our current and potential readers, The Sofia Echo will be expanding its coverage of popular topics such as tourism, travel, local Bulgarian news of interest to expatriates – and doubling the size of our weekly "What’s On" listings of television, cinema, music, galleries, weather, fairs and exhibitions and other useful information.

Our coverage of Central and Eastern Europe is being expanded, while in the business section, there will be regular in-depth features on topics such as the economy, energy and manager profile.

The features section will introduce a series of articles on topics from health and beauty to gadget and widgets – look out for the first, all about everything you should know about suntan lotions.

The new Sofia Echo sees the return of regular venue and restaurant reviews, and a bigger display of that ever-popular item, our social page photographs.

The Sofia Echo’s office is at 64 Kiril i Metodi Street, Sofia
