Bulgaria's parliament has formally ratified the nominations of two incoming ministers to replace those sacked by Prime Minister Boiko Borissov on March 16.

Desislava Atanasova was formally approved for the post of Health Minister with 120 votes in favour and 46 against. Atanasova replaces Dr. Stefan Konstantinov.

Delyan Dobrev was also approved as the new Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. 119 MPs backed his nomination and 42 opposed it. Dobrev replaces Traicho Traikov.

Dobrev, 34, became deputy minister to Traikov in May 2011. Before that, he was deputy chairperson of Parliament’s energy committee.

Atanasova, 33, the fourth Health Minister since PM Boiko Borissov’s centre-right GERB government came to power in July 2009, is a 33-year-old lawyer who until now was chairperson of Parliament’s health committee.
