A Bulgarian national has been arrested at an airport of the Dominican Republic after allegedly being found in possession of six kg of cocaine, El Dia said, according to news agency Focus.

The Bulgarian, reportedly aged 54, was detained at the airport in Punta Cana while trying to catch a flight to Paris.

It is believed that the man arrested was part of an East European organised crime group dealing in drug trafficking, the report said.
