Five armed and masked men wearing police clothing attacked and robbed an armoured car of money reportedly amounting to more than two million leva (about a million euro) on the night of April 11 2012.

No one was injured in the incident, which took place on the old road between the towns of Sevlievo and Lovech, in the vicinity of the Kakrina region.

The armoured car was transporting the turnovers of companies based in the towns of Veliko Turnovo, Gabrovo and Sevlievo.

The robbery started when a right-hand-drive 4x4 was used to cut off the lorry’s approach. They cut open the armoured car and removed the money.
