‘Abuse’ committee for Malév, airport

Hungary's parliament established on April 24 2012 the committee tasked with investigating the privatisations of former national airline carrier Malév and airport operator Budapest Airport.

The sale of the state’s shares in Malév to Russian oligarch Boris Abramovich’s AirBridge in 2007 – later taken over by Russia’s Vnesheconombank – and its subsequent renationalisation in 2010 during the successive Socialist governments of Ferenc Gyurcsány and Gordon Bajnai are on the committee’s agenda.
