Bulgaria's new parliamentary season has started with a fresh wave of anti-government protests and counter-protests. Returning from a month's recess, members of parliament were met by demonstrators demanding the resignation of the cabinet.
Like previous protests, Wednesday's rally, dubbed The Big Welcome, was organized in Facebook. More than 8,000 people have registered so far. The protest has also been backed by a dozen of NGOs, as well as by ex ruling party GERB and the non-parliamentary Reformist Bloc. The demonstration is planned to continue with an evening march in downtown Sofia.
